Hallelujah

The sun is shining. It feels like it's been raining forever. I guess it wasn't that awful of a winter weather wise. We didn't have ice storms. There weren't that many big snowfalls. Well, that I can remember. Winter is always like giving birth to me. I know it hurt. there were pain killers involved, but I can't really remember the details. I do know, it's not something I have any interest in doing again. Just like giving birth!!

The only difference is with that whole giving birth thing I got two amazing kids out of it. What came out of winter? Hmm... let's see, my skin is not only dry but full of hives. I don't think this is winter's fault but I'm going to say it is cause I'm like that. My garage is a mess cause it has been to cold to clean it. My electric bill is astronomical and oh yes, let us not forget the backyard where Lucy and Mickey go... Finger to nose. Nuff said. Hey Jen, if you're still out there, that was for you.

My friend moved here from South Carolina and she has been complaining about the weather since she got here. I found myself defending it because I just wanted her to shut up. (I love you Ashie). I know it sucks, we all know it sucks. I must have said a thousand times, "It will be over soon." I have said before and I'll say it again. I'm not sure why I live here. Love my family, love my friends but I can make friends anywhere. I'm just kidding. Well, I could make friends, but I'd miss mine. Although they could visit. I'd buy a futon. I'd stock the fridge with mojito mix, I'd always have extra hummus on hand.

We'd save so much money. We only need flip flops, less paid for activities, more outside on the beach. People smile more in warm weather, we'd have to be careful of that cause botox is expensive, but besides that I just don't see a down side. Are you with me?

No complaining today cause the reclusive Sun has made an appearance. Now it's going to shine down on that almost neon green grass and put a little smile on everyone's face. It's going to be 70 today. I'm going be very busy worshipping. My God has come to earth. Lucky me. Sue, can you believe it?

What good comes out of winter? How about Spring?

If you were living the hot life in South Florida or Phoenix you'd begin taking the weather for granted. You'd be talking about the humidity, and the damn air-conditioner breaking, and the dried out front lawn and on and on.

Awakening from winter, seeing the buds pop on the trees and flowers in April and reach full bloom in May and easing in to the warm weather is how it's supposed to be, it's the nature of things, the way the Universe intended.

Give thanks my dear sister for the harshness of winter, for it is only through this ice-covered lens that you can retain objectivity, and the warm passion of Hope.

Dang, I was all set to join the Southbound Band Wagon and then I read BC's comment. Okay, I get the point. But I still dream of going back to Richmond......

I'm with Chris. I truly believe it would be depressing to live somewhere that didn't have a change of seasons. No anticipation of Spring? No wonderment that nature has renewed itself another year? No burst of life to marvel at each year. Or no Fall? I just could not live without Fall. The crisp tang in the air, the amazing color. Stay here, my dear. It is all here.
Love, Mom
P.S. I was impressed by "reclusive."

Okay, Kathy, don't listen to them. I don't need the winter to appreciate the Spring. Has anyone ever been to Southern California? There's no humidity, lots of people don't even have air conditioners, the lawns are beautiful. Plus, you've got the ocean. There are flowers , gorgeous flowers that don't grown here. If it's the way the Universe intended why did God invent Santa Monica? Riddle me that Riddler.

I'm not giving thanks for winter. I think it's stupid. There, I've said it, Winter is stupid. We're suckers. Ask anyone who lives where it's nice. They know the truth. We're obviously paying for something we did in a past live. We must have forgotten to shovel the driveway and someone slipped and now we're screwed.

So there.

I love you Mommy. You're reason enough to stay here. I'm glad you liked my word.

don't forget how much time is saved in the summer too. you don't even have to comb your hair, and you just pick yesterday's shorts off the floor, and pull out a new tanktop to wear.

plus laundry is so much SMALLER in the summer. can i get a hells yeah to that? i hate giant winter loads.

the word "load" sounds dirty to me.

i'm giggling right now because i just dumped two loads all over your blog.

I hear you! OMG--it has been faaar too long since the sun has shown it's face around here. I'll be over in an hour...I love mojitos!

Winter sucks. Plain and simple. The kids drive you crazy. You hate to leave the house. Keeping gas in the car is impossible when you warm it every morning for 20 minutes.
It just sucks.

Looking forward to better weather :)

Alright, I tried. No one can say I didn't.

Southern California? Oy Vay! I can hear you already griping about the traffic, the endless traffic, and oh, the smog. I want to get back to the bucolic Chester County countryside.

This blog is turning into one of those Housewives shows. It's too cold... There's too much laundry to do... It's not nice where I live... Waah, waah, waaaaaaaah.

Hey Twist,

I think it's time to break out the sacred cauldron and put your haunted hearth to work whipping up some Secret CBTCK Whoop-Ass.

A Housewife

(besides, I look awesome in my long black dress, black boots and pointy hat.)
