Tomorrow, Tomorrow, I Love You, Tomorrow......

It's only a day away. Hey, that was like a show tune. Did you like that little ditty? Cause we all know what tomorrow is, right? It's not Halloween (that's over), it's not Thanksgiving (there are still some livin' turkeys). Right? It's get yourself out and vote day. Pick a guy and mark your ballot. Now this is just me, but I truly think if your kids are off school tomorrow, which many are. I kind of think (only my very humble opinion) that you should bring them with you to vote. Because we all know there are many people in this country who don't vote. I'm sure they have their reasons, I don't really understand them but you know, no judgement. I'm just saying, lead by example. Show your kids, this is what you should do. You should brush your teeth, try your best to eat right and get some exercise daily and VOTE!!!
Vote because you have the right to. Vote because your choice does count. Vote because it's important.
Okay, I'm going to hop down now and start sharpening my number 2's. ;)

Tomorrow, tomorrow, I will love the U.S. even more tomorrow. I so believe that tomorrow will be the start of a much brighter day for this country. If not, then we deserve to perish even more than we have the past 8 years. But, I have faith that all but the extremists understand that life in the U.S. and our reputation in the world have diminished considerably under radical Republican rule, and that there is a better future that awaits us if we are willing to vote, and then work together, for it. I don't believe that Obama has all of the answers, but he seems to have a vision for a unified country where the lines that separate us can be muted rather than so starkly drawn. I personally am ready to reach across all of those lines and join with my neighbor as fellow humans and get down to the business of making all of our lives better.

Top 10 Reasons why I can't wait for tomorrow:

10. It's Tuesday. (This poor little day rarely gets any mention north of New Orleans.) Let's give it a big shout out. Whoop! Whoop!

9. Kids are off school.

8. No crazy homework madness (see #9)

7. Chance to teach kids about the right to vote, the privilege to vote.

6. The opportunity to show total strangers my, ummm, lovely drivers license photo.

5. No alarm clocks (again, see # 9)

4. A change in the administration.

3. Another opportunity to do a champagne (hopefully) inspired headstand.

2. One last chance to see Tina Fey's Palin.

And the #1. reason.....

No more negative campaign ads or "Chase Utley's favorite word" campaign phone calls!!!!!!

I voted the weekend before last. And when I got to the computer/voting thingamajig, I said, outloud, "Nader is running again?" Who knew.

I'm ready for tomorrow to be OVER with. So all the pundits and talking heads can shut the hell up. I need to go watch Snow White or Mary Poppins or something. Yeesh.

Amen, Lulu. I've heard enough from the pundits on this race, even though I love political shows. I'm ready to get on with the business of getting the country back on the right track.

At the risk of being accused of monopolizing Amy's blog, I need to apologize to Lula for typing Lulu. Sorry, must be the third glass of wine. (For my family, I'm on vacation. It's not like I do this on regular weeknights.)
