Small World, Right?

So yesterday in New York I got to meet my cyberfriendmeredith. While for some reason it didn't seem remotely odd to me. I guess because I am odd. Others did think it was strange. Her boyfriend thought she might show up and I would be a guy. Her other friend was very insistent she didn't come to my house (which would have been difficult anyway cause I live like an hour and a half from here). My friend Jen wanted me to have a password. She kept txting me about an "Amy skin suit" ( a la Silence of the Lambs). It really did not ever occur to me that would be anything more than meeting this internet friend who seems a lot like me. She did do a whole blog post that was very funny about being nervous to meet me, what if I hadn't used my own picture or I thought she was a dork (not likely). I did have to leave her a comment saying it really isn't my picture up there. Just to be funny. I don't know if it was but my brother, my friend Lisa and I were quite pleased with our work. I said I was shorter and had facial hair, my brother grabbed the computer and added in that I had a third nipple but you really couldn't tell unless it was really cold and you looked hard. Wait, how old are we again?
So anyway, Saturday rolls around and I get a call from her, she had just gotten to her hotel and ran right smack into David Beckham and Posh Spice. I took that as a really good sign. I don't know of what, that's just how I am. So as it turns out we do meet in Union Square at a very public restaurant and she is as nice and normal and pretty as she seems from her blog. We drank some wine and chatted and it was really fun. My brother met us after a while and we all hung out. After a bit she had to go get ready to go to the party she had flown up here to go to. We said goodbye and off she went.
My brother and I went out to dinner. While we were there this guy he has dated starts txting him. We refer to him as Smokin' Asian guy. Well Smokin' Asian guy wanted to meet my brother out later but first he had a birthday party. Just for fun I said, "Ask him if he's going to Bill's party." Guess what? He was. In a city of eight million people my cyberfriendmeredith and Smokinasianguy are going to the same party. Just makes me want to break out in a Disney song.

I sooo believe in that small world thing! How cool is that? And so glad your cyber friend wasn't an ax murderer. So very glad. I've met up with a couple of bloggers - invited them right into my house. Never worried about it a bit.

Well, I am glad to see you are back in the WC, safe and sound. And without having to use the safe word. I do like your choice of scrumptious..:)

I don't see how Smokin' Asian Guy could be any hotter than you three!

And of course Meredith ran into the Beckhams...she was meeting YOU later in the day. You who meets famous people on a regular basis. It doesn't surprise me at all.

p.s. Did you ever see my shoutout to you on Facebook? It was a shoutout to Kid Rock, too.

Oh, Smokin Asian Guy is just as hot as us. Dude was a model. I'll send Amy a pic to post. "Dated" is a strong word to use. We've hung out, but just as friends, and I made it clear that I wasn't getting involved with anyone right now given the recent breakup of a relationship on my end. Amy's trip was a lot of fun when technology wasn't keeping us from focusing on each other (about 75% of the time when Amy was reading others' blogs and writing a post for her own, while I was texting friends).

I'm with Lula--you guys are HAWT. Is that your brother? He's freakin' adorable. That's wild that they were going to the same party! I'm glad you had a good time...

BTW--I want all of your secrets--I want to be HAWT too, damn it! Is it the blond hair? The yoga? Or the fact that I need to lose like 50 lbs? lol

SA-I love that you had them over, never occurred to me it was weird either.

Sue-Are you knitting?

Anon-I knew you would enjoy that. Thanks for having my back.

LeighAnn-You are so sweet. SAG is a bit hotter, he's a model. I did not see the thing on FB. Is it on my page or yours?

Mark- I was only trying to occupy myself while your slew of admirers were txting you. You know how that bugs the shit out of me. When I am there, all attention should be focused on me.

Salah-I don't know how to respond. I'm glad you like Obama. I'm not sure if you read my post but it had to do with gay men, possible blog killers and smokin hot asian guys. Not really anything to do with Obamas roots. It's all good though. I say,"Vote."

Christy, Yes, that is my brother. I know he's good looking. All my friends (even the married ones) want to make out with him. They always have. And you are hawt! It's like age, just a state of mind. :)

That is so unusual. It is a very small world! Does that smokin' asian guy like women too? I'm just wonderin cause my "friend" thinks he's cute. It seems to me you had a wonderful time in NYC. That's awesome. I can't wait to visit Rachel's world again. We've got to make plans sometime next week. My schedule is totally hectic. Sunday, my bday, I've got work and a baby shower. Fun, fun. Who, invented showers? I get the name. It totally fits. Rain makes me a little sad. Showers irritate the hell out of me. Seriously, sometimes I think I work Sundays to avoid them. It's the only time I'm actually happy that I have to work. Anyway, I can't wait til you get out of the shower so I can hear more about whatever. Oh yeah, I'm going to NYC Tues. when I get done work. Maybe we can hatch a plan to do some yoga thing wed. I'm just sayin...
Love,
Paris
